Z to A Countdown

Last year, the PKY Elementary School began a tradition of counting down the last 26 days of school by having fun dress up days.  Each day corresponds to a different letter of the alphabet, from Z down to A.  It’s hard to believe that next Thursday will mark the beginning of the countdown!  Here's the entire schedule:

Thursday, May 13	U	Wear University of Florida gear (or for your favorite University)
Friday, May 14	T	Wear tan or turquoise
Monday, May 17	S	Wear stripes

Wednesday, May 19	Q	Queen Day (girls will make crowns at school)
Thursday, May 20	P	Wear pajamas
Friday, May 21	O	Wear orange
Monday, May 24	N	Wear a necktie or a necklace
Tuesday, May 25	M	Mismatch Day – wear clothes that don’t match
Wednesday, May 26	L	Wear light colors
Thursday, May 27	K	King Day (boys will make crowns at school)
Friday, May 28	J	Wear jumbo shirts

On each day of the countdown, children can also bring an item that starts with the letter of the day to share with the class at our Morning Meeting. 

Feel free to get creative with the countdown!  If your child doesn't have the recommended clothing, think of something else that starts with that letter.  Please do not feel pressure to purchase new outfits for the countdown; we want this to be a fun way to end the school year!
